Can You Transfer From Cash App To Venmo

Sending money from one person’s Cash App account to another person’s Venmo account isn’t possible.

The different money transfer apps just don’t connect the right way for that.

But if the accounts are both yours and you want to transfer money between them, that is definitely possible.

There are 2 ways you could go about it, in fact.

How to Transfer Money from Cash App Account to Venmo Account

It’s actually pretty easy!

There are 3 quick steps and you’re good to go with a Venmo and Cash App transfer.

Here’s how:

  1. Add your Venmo Card to your Cash App account [1]
  2. Select ‘Cash Out’ in Cash App
  3. Check the transfer details – make sure it went through

For a more step-by-step approach, here’s how to add that debit card to Cash App:

  2. Tap the $ sign on the bottom-left (it’ll show the amount of your balance)
  3. Select ‘Add Bank’
  4. Enter all the details of your Venmo card here
  5. Tap the $ sign again
  6. Select ‘Cash Out’
  7. Enter the amount you wish to send
  8. Tap ‘Cash Out’ at the bottom
  9. Choose the type of transfer you want (instant transfers include additional costs, but they’re immediate; standard transfers are free but take 3-5 business days)
  10. If you chose the instant option, check your balance tab to make sure it worked; if you chose the standard option, check it on the estimated date of arrival

There you go!

You can do this as often as you need to.

Can You Transfer From Venmo To Cash App

Unfortunately, one thing you can’t do is transfer funds directly from your Venmo account to another person’s Cash App account. However, if you have personal accounts with both apps, neither Venmo nor Cash App has rules that would make transfers from one service to another impossible or against their terms of service.

How to Transfer Money from Venmo Account to Cash App Account: Method 1

This first method to transfer funds involves using the direct deposit feature of your Cash App account. [2]

We’ll walk you through a step-by-step guide on how to do this.

First, in the Cash App:

  1. Open the Cash App on your mobile device
  2. Tap the dollar sign (top of the screen)
  3. Tap the ‘Cash’ button to enter the Direct Deposit section
  4. Tap ‘Get Account Number’
  5. Select ‘Enable Account’
  6. Tap ‘Copy Account Details’ – be sure to copy both the routing number & account number

Now, switch over to your Venmo app:

  1. Open the Venmo app on your mobile device
  2. Tap ‘Settings’ (top of the page w/ three horizontal lines)
  3. Select ‘Payment Methods’
  4. Tap ‘Add a Bank or Card’ – choose ‘Bank’

How to Transfer Money from Venmo Account to Cash App Account: Method 2

Here’s how to do it.

  2. Open your Venmo app
  3. Tap the three horizontal lines (top of the page)
  4. Select ‘Transfer to Bank’ (may show ‘Transfer Money’ on some devices)
  5. Enter the amount you want to transfer
  6. Choose the type of transfer (instant transfers incur a small fee, but you receive money within 30 minutes; a regular money transfer takes 3-5 business days and does not have any fees)

Next, switch over from Venmo to Cash App:

  1. Open your Cash App and tap ‘Balance’
  2. Select ‘Add Cash’
  3. Enter the amount you want to transfer
  4. Tap ‘Add’
  5. Enter your PIN or use Touch ID confirmation

You’re all set!

While this method does allow you to send money from Venmo to Cash App, it does take a little more time.
