Cancel Your AAA Membership by Phone

Members can contact the AAA customer support team and speak to a customer service representative.  Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Visit your regional chapter’s AAA website.
  2. Find the ‘Contact Us’ page and note the phone number for member services.
  3. Make sure you have your account information, including your membership number and contact details handy.
  4. Advise the AAA representative that you wish to cancel your entire membership.
  5. The customer services representative may ask you for a reason why you wish to terminate your membership. Make sure you ask any membership questions before going ahead.
  6. Ask for confirmation that your membership cancellation has been actioned.
  7. Check your payment provider on your next billing date to ensure that the renewal has been canceled and the annual fee has not been withdrawn.

Cancel Your AAA Membership in Person

If you’d rather speak to someone in person, you can visit your local AAA Club.

If you don’t know where to find the AAA office closest to you, log in to the member services page where you’ll find an ‘Office Locator’ link.

Here are the steps that members can take to terminate their membership and, if applicable, apply for a full refund or a partial refund:

  1. Make sure you have your account information, membership card, and contact details handy.
  2. Visit your local American Automobile Association office and advise the customer services representative that you would like assistance to terminate your membership.

  4. Fill in any form that may be required.  The customer service rep can assist you with this if required.
  5. Ask for confirmation that your account is terminated either by email or whatever confirmation process the company offers.
  6. Check with your payment provider that the subscription payments have been discontinued.

How to Prevent Future Charges from AAA

How To Stop Future Subscription Charges

We’ve all been there – you cancel a subscription, and later on, you find out they’ve been charging your account the whole time.

Unfortunately, this is all too common when it comes to subscription services.

The best way to prevent future billing is to change your payment method to a free Privacy virtual card that you control, like an on and off switch.

Here’s how to get started in 3 minutes or less with Privacy:

  1. Get a FREE account with Privacy & connect your bank account.
  2. Create a new virtual card for each subscription and set a monthly limit.
  3. You now have control and peace of mind.  Nice work!

We recommend you use Privacy for all online transactions for safety and security by not exposing your actual card information.

When you decide to cancel a service you’ve signed up for with Privacy, you can simply turn off that virtual card and prevent future billing.

You can also set charge limits to avoid surprise charges or increased rates without your knowledge.
